Local pet activities
Plantation Bay has two hometowns — Ormond Beach just north of Daytona Beach, and Flagler Beach a bit further north, near the Flagler-Volusia County line. Both are fun, funky towns with that Old Florida feel and uncrowded beaches.
Michael Crotty Bicentennial Park is located just north of Ormond Beach, between the Halifax River and Atlantic Ocean. It offers facilities for many outdoor pursuits, including a four-acre dog park with separate spaces for small and large dogs, shade and water stations.
The Good Times Dog Bar in Flagler Beach is part-bar for pet parents, and part-dog park. A watering hole for all! Note that you must register your dog online before visiting.
A little further north, the James F. Holland Memorial Park in Palm Coast is another multi-purpose public park with a 1.5-acre dog park, with separate facilities for small and large dogs.
Flagler County’s visitor website contains a helpful list of dog-friendly places and activities.
For cat enthusiasts, the area’s Cat Fanciers’ Association show occurs each September at Daytona Beach’s Ocean Center complex, a short drive south of Plantation Bay.
If your dog(s) love the water, living in Plantation Bay makes it easy to enjoy designated dog beaches in Flagler and Volusia Counties. Heed each location’s guidelines and pack Fido’s leashes, food and water.
