The Golf Courses
The Steve Smyers-designed Club de Bonmont course has earned numerous regional honors. One such honor is being on the list of “Top 50 Florida Golf Courses.” The course incorporates natural and manmade hazards, rambling layouts, forested borders and watery menaces. It reopened better than ever in October 2016 following an extensive renovation.
The Lloyd Clifton-designed Prestwick couorse feature pristine Florida settings — native foliage, rolling hammocks and surrounding homes and landscaping.
The Facilities
Low-key enough for everyday enjoyment, yet beautifully sited for special occasions, the Club de Bonmont and Prestwick clubhouses accommodate everything from 19th-hole toasts to formal dinners and receptions. Both are easily accessed and feature all the dining, socializing and locker-room perks of golfing membership.
The Prestwick clubhouse is tucked in the Prestwick neighborhood, making it a breeze to drop off your bag there, or bicycle to it for lunch. Classic signs announce it from the street, but its stone facade and one-level layout amid shady trees make it a good neighbor, with the cart house and bag drop tucked behind it. After a Prestwick round, prop your spikes on the clubhouse patio, which overlooks a serene pond, and enjoy a beverage.
The Club de Bonmont clubhouse is easy to spot — across Lake de Bonmont from Plantation Bay’s fitness center and spa. A circular drive drops off guests underneath a portico, then golf bags a few feet away. Out back, the clubhouse overlooks splendid water views and sunsets. Out front, steer your golf cart across the street to a full practice facility.
The Ambiance
Did we mention that Plantation Bay is a beautiful, convenient place to live? Miles of trails and sidewalks offer the opportunity for endless exploration. Dog walkers are a community staples.
